Atom Bomb, Atom Bomb, Atom Bomb, Atom Bomb

Bollywood's ode to a weapon of mass destruction with lots of crowd dancing and Holi fireworks thrown in for good measure.

Ahmadinejad's favorite song?

Alternative title?: How I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb.:)

  1. That's fun, but it can't replace "Fujiyama Mama" as my favorite atom bomb song...

  4. Nice one, PC. Of course, like me in my post, they nicked "Dr. Strangelove" for the song title. :)

Mister Naidu, meant to get back to you sooner. Thanks, the Tom Lehrer song is fun.

PC, I recall having a single by a band called TV Personalities, it was called "Part Time Punks." Wow, that was 30 years ago! But it must be the same band...

And speaking of obscure British post-punk music from the old days, here is my all-time favorite nuclear apocalypse song, Young Marble Giants' "Final Day" (with a strange video that could just as well have starred Helen :) :

  9. To PC and Richard

Thanks for those songs. I hadn't heard them before.

I would say that the best apocalyptic-type song to make it big was R.E.M.'s great "It's The End Of The World As We Know It." (influenced by Dylan's Subterranean Homesick Blues"!)

here's a link for those who aren't familiar with it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thMm-7RFsm0
